Small Group Safaris follow a pre-determined itinerary, depart on specific dates, and involve travel as part of a small group. The principle advantage of a Small Group Safari is that members of the group share certain fixed costs (e.g. transportation and/or a specialist guide), thereby decreasing the per person price of the trip.

DAY – BY –DAY
Day 01: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
Meet and greet in Arusha at 08h00. You will depart Arusha 08h30 drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive. The game viewing in this unique park, with its alkaline lake and breathtaking views offering you the chance to see a wide variety of wildlife. The acacia woodlands offer the best overall wildlife viewing in the park. In the afternoon you will enjoy a delicious picnic lunch under the acacia trees. The parks habitat is renowned for its famous tree-climbing lion, as well as the elusive leopard, prestigious giraffe and the greatest elephant concentration in East Africa. Algae thrive in the high saline content of the lake where a wide variety of colorful flocks of birds gather in the water to feed. In fact, well over 300 different species of birds have been recorded in this area. After lunch you will continue your game drive and later drive to the lush and intimate retreat at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge where you will enjoy a sumptuous dinner and then retire for the night.
Day 02: Olduvai George – Central Serengeti to see Big Cats & Large Mammals
Breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. A brief visit en route to Olduvai Gorge, which is often referred to as ‘The Cradle of Mankind’ and is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world. Picnic lunch in the park. Proceed to Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
Day 03: Eastern & Moru Kopjes Serengeti to see Mammals & Big cats
Begin your sunrise safaris and return for late breakfast at 09h00. Full day game drives in Serengeti National Park gets its Name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless Plain. The Serengeti is located along the rift valley and is abound with geological formations. One of Serengeti’s defining features are its Kopjes pronounced copy, a feature of continual Weathering. These islands in the sea of grass are formed as the topsoil comprising of rock and ash is eroded exposing the Covered layer of metamorphic rock. These exposed rock forms “kopjes” are round as a result of spherical wind weathering. The game drives in this park are exceptional and game viewing Incredible. This park offers the best opportunity of viewing Cheetah, Leopards and Lions. Return for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge.
Day 04: Serengeti Plains – Ngorongoro Crater rim
Begin your sunrise safaris and return for late breakfast at 09h00. Half day game drives in Serengeti National Park gets its name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless Plain. These islands in the sea of grass are formed as the top soil comprising of rock and ash is eroded exposing the covered layer of metamorphic rock. These exposed rock forms “kopjes” are round as a result of spherical wind weathering. The national park covers an area of 14800 square kilometer’s most of which is grass plains. These rich grass plains a result of ash deposited by volcanic eruptions, and is home to 3 million animals. Within these grass plains the scattered kopjes act as a heaven for animals from grass fires, predators and the heat. The game drives in this park are exceptional and game viewing incredible. This park offers the best opportunity of viewing Cheetah, Leopards and Lions. Later drive back to Ngorongoro for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.
Day 05: Ngorongoro Crater Africa’s “Garden of Eden”
Early breakfast and today you will explore today you will explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. High walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Drive back to Arusha and onwards to Kilimanjaro Airport or departure or if you have any plan to extend your trip to Zanzibar – Kilimanjaro Climbing or Southern Tanzania please let us know so that we can make the combination of package if possible.
