Safari Highlights

Coinciding with the wildebeest migration, this superb safari to northern safari to northern Tanzania focuses on East Africa’s colorful birdlife and the abundance of mammals roaming its rolling plains.

In Arusha national Park, we look for mantled colobus, Cape buffalo and giraffe and special birds such as bar-tailed trogon, before heading to birding & wildlife-rich Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro crater, before ending on the vast plains of the Ndutu Plains to observe the annual migration, and look for endemic birds including rufous-tailed weaver, Fischer’s lovebird and grey-breasted spurfowl. Our Naturalist Guide is graduate in Diploma of Wildlife Management from the College of African Wildlife Management in the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro (Mweka). We have led a number of trips in East Africa ranging from International university from California, researchers, birding groups, bird and wildlife photographers, keen ornithologist.

Day-By-Day tour

  • Day 01: Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport – Arusha.

    Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, our VIP Visa Specialist will meet and welcome you to East Africa. He guides you through the entire Tanzania Visa application process and skipping long immigration queues. With Galloping Safaris, you will be escorted from arrival to departure, making your arrival to Tanzania completely worry-free. Upon exiting the airport, a Galloping Safaris representative will be holding a poster with your name who will transfer you to Arusha (45 minutes) for the Serenity retreat of Lake Duluti lodge this charming hotel has beautiful views of Mount Meru and is the ideal place to acclimatize to Africa or simply relax in the poolside gardens with a chilled drink. On cool winter evenings, get cozy next to a fireplace and sip one of the best coffees you will ever taste and enjoy dinner at the lodge’s restaurant-Garden room.

  • Day 02: Lake Manyara National Park – Game drive – High Tea.

    Depart 07: 50 AM from Arusha with 4x4x and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing to this unique park with an alkaline lake and breathtaking views. Here you will view a wide variety of wildlife and the acacia woodlands offer the best overall wildlife viewing in the park. Enjoy your picnic lunches under the Acacia trees. This habitat is favored by the park’s famous tree-climbing lions, leopards and giraffes and can claim the greatest elephant concentration in East Africa. Algae thrive in the high saline content of the lake. Huge and colorful flocks of birds gather in the water to feed, including many different varieties of birds that coexist together. In fact, well over 300 different species of birds have been recorded here, continue with afternoon game drive and later drive to the Lush retreat of Nyikani Tarangire Camp for cocktails drinks dinner and overnight.

  • Day 03: Olduvai George – Maasai Village Visit – Ndutu Plains- Evening Game drive – High tea.

    Breakfast, drive to Ndutu Plains. A brief visit en-route to Olduvai Gorge, which is often referred to as ‘The Cradle of Mankind’ and is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world. Stop at Land of the Maasai—the iconic pastoralists of the East African savanna, known for their scarlet robes, their beadwork, and their legendary ceremonies. Pay a visit to a Maasai Manyatta, or village, where we’ll be greeted with a foot-stomping, high-jumping welcome dance. Immerse yourself in their world, learning about their customs. Meet the village elders, visit homes, and take part in a memorable cultural exchange. Enjoy picnic lunch under the Acacia tree and head to the Ndutu Plains area is expected have a dense concentration of migratory herds from as it hosts the highly anticipated calving season. With the gathering of the Great Migration along with thousands of baby calves born every day, predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena will also follow in a desperate fight for survival. Be alert for the striped hyena, a rare carnivore that prefers the Ndutu area and often spotted at dusk or dawn. Dinner and overnight at Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge.

  • Day 04: Full Day game drives to witness the Great Migration Calvin Season – Evening High Tea.

    Early breakfast, today we dedicate a Full Day game drive in Ndutu Plains, lakes and marsh in discussion with your guide to search for lion or cheetah along the edge of the woodland or head out into the vast plains to get in amongst the wildebeest migration, along with herds of zebra and gazelle at every turn. The fabulous variety of birdlife in this area as well as the carpet of flowers that develops with the first rains will surprise you. Equally impressive are Tanzania’s magical sunsets, which out here are celebrated at traditional “sundowners” … like those you’ll enjoy at your lodge on your final night on safari, followed by a festive farewell dinner and overnight at Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Lodge.

  • Day 05: Central Serengeti National Park – Afternoon game drive – Bush Barbecue Dinner.

    These full day safaris are the best way to see the full range of what this magnificent park has to offer. Each excursion departs at around 6.30 am, with your 4×4 fully equipped to cross the Serengeti in search of game. The early mornings are relatively cool, but by midday it can become very hot indeed and sun-block lotion and hats are advised. Lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree as you take a break from scanning the horizons, and realize that all is well with the world. One of nature’s great occasions is the annual crossing of the Mara river by migrating wildebeest. Yet it is often in the lesser-known corners of the bush that we spot the highlights of your visit, such as a kill, amorous liaison. A full day on safari gives you every chance of such unforgettable encounters. Return for sundowner and cocktails, campfire is ready for you, enjoy dinner and overnight at Nyikani Central Camp.

  • Day 06: Full Day Game drive in Serengeti to see Mammals & Big cats – Sundowner + Cocktails.

    Early Breakfast, Full day game drives in Serengeti National Park gets its name from the Maasai word Siringitu meaning endless Plain. Be amazed by the vast plains and the enormous amount of wildlife that can be seen here, and start counting the Big Five. Serengeti Seronera is well known as being home to a large number of big cats- lions, leopards and cheetahs. This does not deter the elephant, giraffe, hippo, crocodile, buffalo and impala who are also popular inhabitants of Seronera. Around midday you will stop for a break to enjoy a packed lunch and stretch your legs before jumping back in your jeep ready for another few hours of spotting the animals in the afternoon. At the end of the day you will return for dinner and overnight at Nyikani Central Camp.

  • Day 07: Ngorongoro Crater Africa’s “Garden of Eden”- Evening high tea – Sundowner – Bonfires.

    Early breakfast and today you will explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater during a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the Wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest Animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, Hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck, the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Later drive to the Lush retreat of Lions Paw Ngorongoro Camp for the sundowner at the Lodge is one of its kinds. The ever-inviting fireplace pit by the campfire where the Swahili lessons with fun are offered by our staff. Enjoy your delicious dinner will be served at the mezzanine that offer the best fine view the highlands and overnight.

  • Day 08: Ngorongoro Highlands – Arusha – Private Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport- Departure.

    Leisure breakfast, enjoy the best fine view of Ngorongoro Highlands and drive back to Arusha in time for a fare well deserved Lunch at Butter and Scotch Restaurant at Sable Squire Garden, today you will taste Beef & Chicken Barbecue, rice, bananas, cheese plate, organic salads to have more African touch and Private transfer back to Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for check in for departure flight Or if you have a connections in other destinations please advise we can assit.
