Why we’re Different.

The Core Values We Live By

As you would expect of a well-established, professional organization, we have certain core values, which are at the heart of everything we do.

Knowledge

We have the knowledge, we want to share it. As a truly local company with over 8 years of experience, we really know Tanzania – its landscapes, its people, its wildlife. But equally importantly, we are determined to share that knowledge with you, so that you can get to know our beautiful country, too. From the moment you make your first inquiry to the moment you leave, you’ll find we have the knowledge to make your trip unforgettable. Our staff will help you plan your trip; our driver-guides are often praised for ‘going the extra mile’ to ensure that our travelers have the best experience possible. Our knowledge becomes your knowledge.

Honesty

We know that reputations are hard to win and easy to lose. That’s why we set such importance on integrity, honesty and fairness throughout our organization. We listen to our customers and strive to meet their expectations. From the moment when we help our customers to make the right choice about their travel experience to Tanzania, we say what we mean and mean what we say, communicating clearly throughout. Perhaps even more importantly, we ensure that we do what we say, delivering on our promises while carrying out our business in accordance with the very highest ethical standards.

Passion

We know that Tanzania is a very special place; a unique place with some of nature’s most spectacular sights and wonders. We are really passionate about sharing its natural gifts with all our travellers – that is our challenge. Here at Galloping Safaris Ltd., we pride ourselves on our team of people, recruiting passionate and motivated people and training them to the highest standards to make sure that they make our travellers’ Tanzanian experience unforgettable. We are all committed to showing you the very best of our region, committed to ensuring that our passion becomes your passion. At Galloping Safaris Ltd., we work hard to make sure that you take home the very best memories of our company, our people, and of beautiful Tanzania.

A typical Day on Safaris

Wake-up call Dawn

Your guides will wake you just as the birds begin to sing. They’ll often call “knock, knock’ outside your tent/room until they hear your reply. You have a few minutes to get yourself ready for the day before gathering around your camp’s boma for a light breakfast, usually comprising a hot drink, fruit, cereals and freshly baked muffins. We’ll pack a picnic breakfast to enjoy in the pristine ambience of the bush with an absolute comfort and style.  Of course, it is your private luxury tour so ultimately if you want to sleep in…your wish is our command!

Your first activity of the day – Early morning Game drives.

Animals take advantage of the cooler temperatures at this time of day, so it’s the best time to head out on a game drive or bush walk with your guide.

Diurnal animals will be out foraging for food and water, and nocturnal predators might be returning from their nightly hunt.

If you’re doing a land-based activity, your guide will help look for tell-tale animal print recently left in the dew-wettened ground, which helps them to predict where they might be. They’ll also listen out for any warning calls and disturbances that might indicate that a predator is close by. You’ll pause after an hour or so for a hot drink after enjoy the sunrise actions between predator and prey.

High tea Mid-afternoon

As the heat subsides, camp/lodge staff will set up a table with iced tea, homemade lemonade, freshly baked cakes and pastries. Your guide will brief you on your afternoon activity and you can discuss which animals you’d most like to see.

It’s wise to bring everything you need for your next activity with you to tea in case you need to leave promptly to follow up a reported wildlife sighting or to catch the best light.

Sundowners and Sunsets.

After a festive lunch, with talk of sightings and amazements (high on the list of safari surprises: the fresh and

tasty food), we have time for reading, music, maybe a nap followed by a swim, and then it’s off for an

afternoon game drive. After a lovely dinner back at camp, and sometime around the campfire, we’re off to

bed. And in the morning, we may agree with author Ernest Hemingway that there is “no sleep so perfect as

that stirred but not broken by the thrilling vibrance of a lion’s roar.”

Dinner Evening with drinks around the campfire.

You might have time to freshen up before dinner, but most camps/lodges are casual and won’t mind if you go straight from safari to table. Dinners are often served communally, giving you a chance to swap tales with fellow guests and talk to your guides about their experiences in the bush.

There’ll be three courses – a light starter, usually a meat-based main (though vegetarian options will be available) followed by fresh fruit and desserts.

Afterwards, you can round off the evening with drinks around the campfire. Once you’re ready for bed, a member of staff can show you safely to your tent with a spotlight. Then, fall asleep to the sounds of yipping hyena, distant lion roars and snorting hippo.

Win Case of Emergency we have Doctors on Call.

The services of East Africa ‘s famous Flying Doctors are included in every safari as part of Galloping’s comprehensive Passenger Protection Program. A group of highly qualified physicians, the doctors fly throughout the East Africa bush, providing treatment and emergency transportation.

Tanzania is a “Must See” Land. Tanzania hosts some of the last untouched places left on this planet. It is a place of vast horizons and untamed wilderness; a place of breathtaking beauty and humbling majesty. You can easily lose yourself its sweeping vistas, endless blue skies, and timeless rhythms.

Tranquil yet Raw, Primitive yet Serene – there is hardly any other place like it left on earth. The sights, smells and sounds of this place are completely unique, and may be totally different from anything you’ve ever experienced before. All the stale routines or nagging worries back home will undoubtedly begin to fade to distant memory, and quintessential Africa will captivate your senses with new vibrancy.

You will lose all track of time as the sun rises and sets over the Serengeti plains. You will listen without words to the deafening chorus of grunts and the pounding of hooves as thousands of migratory wildebeest and zebra thunder past your vehicle.

You will get chills as you gaze into the luminous eyes of a wild lion in his natural habitat (from the safety of your vehicle of course!) The seclusion is magical, and the solitude is an inspiration to the soul. Sharing the authentic richness of Tanzania with a spouse, friends or family can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your lifetime.

We humbly support know these projects are small efforts, but they can make a big impact one project-one person at a time.
