Travel Insurance

You need travel insurance to participate in any trip conducted by Galloping Safaris Ltd. It is a wise thing to have travel insurance because it covers you against unforeseen circumstances.

Your trip is a valuable investment, so it is a wise thing to protect it against cancellation, delays, interruptions and unforeseeable expenses. We strongly advise that you obtain travel insurance immediately after booking your trip with Galloping Safaris Ltd.

Standard travel insurance covers the following:

Trip cancellation

Trip interruption

A death in the family

Loss of employment

Lost or delayed luggage

Pre-existing medical conditions

Medical evacuation and repatriation

Flight delays, cancellations or missed connections

Emergency medical conditions (Injury, illness or other medical conditions)

Terrorism

Your travel insurance should at minimum protect you against trip cancellation and trip interruption; this can be useful should you need to cancel your trip due to circumstances such as sickness, emergencies or training injury.

Your Insurance should also cover high altitude trekking (do not confuse this with mountaineering or mountain climbing which is not covered by most insurance providers) and medical evacuation and repatriation costs. If you reside in the USA, we recommend GLOBAL RESCUE and If you reside outside the USA, we recommend WORLD NOMADS.

You must be able to provide proof of insurance to participate on our climbs.

ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA

The government of Tanzania requires all travelers to have emergency medical evacuation coverage, and we recommend using a local provider to ensure quick response times, for example, AMREF Flying Doctors (Silver Plan is most frequently used) or Arusha Medivac.

Please note this is in addition to travel insurance that covers other essentials like cancellation, baggage, delays, etc. At the airport, it is highly likely that your temperature will be taken by airport staff. A Galloping representative will greet you outside of customs with a warm smile under his mask!
